The First Snow

We had our first snow today.  The boys were excited about it!  I'm thankful for the mild winter we've been having cuz I'm just not a huge cold weather fan, but I do love the first snow.  Makes the brown grass and the leafless trees look a little prettier.  But the best part is watching the kids play in it!  The snow is fresh and soft, perfect for snow angels and snow balls and all of that.

So, when Chayce got up from his nap I bundled them both up and sent them out to play in the snow.  They had a great time!  Running and squealing and throwing it and eating it and laying in it...so fun!  And you know who else liked it???  Molly!!  Oh my, she was in heaven!  It was so cute...she was so excited!

Chayce kept throwing snow at Molly

You would think Molly would get mad, but she didn't.  She's so sweet and just loves the boys!

Vann's doing a snow angel in the background.

She playing with her pink ball.

I couldn't find his snow gloves so, I doubled him on the regular gloves which is why all that snow is sticking to them.

Enjoying some hot chocolate afterwards to warm up!

Chayce had apple cider with marshmallows...gotta have the marshmallows!

Then for dinner I made some chili and homemade cornbread.  The best part of my night was Chris telling me he was impressed with my chili!  This is a big deal in our house.  He's the chili master...seriously, he can make some freakin' good chili.  I don't even try to compete.  But for whatever reason, I really focused on the spices this time.  Usually I just dump some stuff in and hope for the best, but this time I thought about what I was adding and consulted a few recipes.  I also used two different meats which added some texture.  And to my surprise, it turned out really good!  And then to top it off...the boys inhaled the cornbread.  Especially Chayce...he couldn't get enough!

Yesterday we read Three Billy Goats Gruff.  And afterwards the kids colored a picture with a troll and a bridge.

Chayce loves to write his name...he's been doing it for awhile now, but it's finally becoming more legible.

Grey Anatomy is on tonight!!!  So excited to watch it.  And then I should go to bed, but I'm sure I'll stay up and watch Private Practice too.  Then I'll be super tired tomorrow...happens every week.  Hope your day was great!

  1. My boys also love playing in the snow followed up with hot chocolate! I'm still catching up on Grey's...my PVR is getting full. I have to blame Dexter for that...I'm hooked!
