Play time

Here are some pics from the past week of the kids playing...

This game is always fun!

Chaycers couldn't quite get it finished before it popped, but he had fun anyhow.

Vann and I kept battling for the best score...

He beat the timer again!  (But not me :) )

Ash was all about his tongue this night...

See...there it is!

Oooh, this ninja turtle car is cool :)

Then he was all about having his hands on his head...silly baby!

It was so funny, he kept running around like this all night.  Look at cute Chaycers in the background :)

Ash and Chayce were playing a super easy version of hide and seek.

There's the silly baby!

Building a tower with Vann.

Do you see how high it is?!

I love his concentration while putting the blocks on.

Then he would knock it over and say 'tumble!'

We had a busy day today.  We went to the bank and Target.  Then home to unload the groceries and lay Ash down for his nap.  Chris stayed home with him while I took Vann and Chayce to the dentist.  They had a great visit!  Then we were off to a friend's birthday party.  Once we got home I busted out some cleaning and laundry.  Fun filled day!

I'm off to feed these hungry boys of mine :)

Dentist Appointment

The boys each had a dentist appointment today.  And they did super!!  Vann's two bottom teeth have grown in very well since his last visit.  Remember when I told you about how his bottom adult teeth were growing in behind his baby teeth...you can read more about it by clicking here.  Anyhow, they're looking really good.  My only concern now is that his gums between the two adult teeth are super low, but the dentist assured me that his gums would grow back like they should.  Vann has quite a few loose teeth right now.  And she said from the xrays that the adult teeth were ready to come through so we need to get those baby teeth out sooner rather than later.  He needs to start wiggling them...the tooth fairy better be ready!

Chaycers getting his teeth brushed with floride

All done!!  (Sorry about the bright picture...it was super sunny in the waiting room)

One more smile!

Vann getting his teeth cleaned

All done!!

Baby Ash was so cute last night while I was lotioning him up after his bath.  When I rubbed the lotion into his cheeks he smiled...a lot!  And it was almost like he wanted to laugh...so super cute!  I kept rubbing his cheeks and he just kept smiling...it was great!!  So, Ash and I have this little ritual where we snuggle up after the older boys go to bed.  I lay on my back and he lays on my chest.  I have great intentions of watching at least one of my taped shows, but usually I make it through like 10 minutes before I'm out like a light.  We sleep like that for a few hours...last night it was almost 4 hours!  I woke up feeling so refreshed!  I love our snuggle time :)

The Tooth Fairy

I told you last time about how Vann's adult teeth are growing in behind his bottom baby teeth.  Well, the big day finally came last week to have those baby teeth pulled to make room for the adult ones.  I was super nervous, not because I thought something was going to go wrong, but because I was the one responsible for causing pain to my baby.  I mean the dentist was doing the pulling, but I made the appointment, I drove him there, ugh...it was hard.

I've always been super honest with my kids about pretty much everything.  Especially when it comes to doctor visits.  If they were going to get a shot, then I told them upfront what to expect.  This was no different.  I talked Vann through the whole process numerous times before the big day.  I didn't want him to be scared, but I wanted him to know that the novacaine shot would hurt...not a lot and not for too long, but it would hurt.

So, when we got to the dentist's office last Wednesday he was ready.  And he did just super!!  He didn't make a peep the entire time.  He did squeeze my hand when he got the first novacaine shot, but that was it.  And he was so stoked to get a little treasure chest for his baby teeth.

After I paid and we all climbed back in the car, he all of a sudden got a little sad.  He was sad to not have his teeth in his mouth anymore.  I honestly think he was a little emotional because he'd been so brave in the office.  It's like he let everything out once we were alone.  But after I pulled out a mirror and showed him he already had new teeth to replace the ones he just got pulled, he was happy again!

On the way home, we hit the grocery store and picked up some soup and ice cream for dinner.  Then he tucked his little teeth under his pillow before bed for the tooth fairy.  In the morning, he was full of smiles when he found a note and two $5 bills that she had left him!

I was a little nervous about how everything would heal up in his mouth.  But I'm happy to say that things are looking good!  His holes have completely closed up and his adult teeth are already moving forward...just a little...the dentist said this could take some time.

Here's a bunch of pics of the boys being silly before bed that night...

Check out those itty bitty teeth in the small treasure chest!

My sweet boys!

You can't even see the holes where the baby teeth were because of how he smiles...

Silliness!

Checking out his teeth

Chayce was begging me to take pictures of him...cute boy!

Are you scared?!?!

Love him!!

Love him too!!

So there you have it.  Our adventures with the dentist.  Hopefully we can go back to our regularly scheduled 6 month visits from here on out...this momma's fingers are crossed!

Trip to the Dentist

I took the boys the the dentist the other day.  They both did fantastic!!  I was one proud mom!  Seriously, they were both rockstars through the cleanings, x-rays, everything.  I knew Vann would do great since this wasn't his first go 'round.  But Chayce, even though he was so excited, with it being his first visit I was prepared for him to not want to cooperate.  But he hopped into the chair and didn't move till she was done.  Great job boys!!

Chaycers ready to have his teeth cleaned.  They get to wear sunglasses because of the bright light the dentist uses to look at their teeth.
Cheese!  Vann's teeth are all clean, now he's waiting to get x-rays.

It was a really good visit and the boys did amazing, but I did have a minor meltdown as we were leaving.  Why you ask??  Well, Vann is 6 1/2 and none of his baby teeth have fallen out yet.  In fact, they're not even loose.  The front bottom two will wiggle ever so slightly, but they're nowhere near close to falling out.  Why is this a problem?  Because his adult teeth are ready to come in.  So ready, that they're poking through behind his baby teeth.  Crazy right?!

I've never seen this before, didn't even see it on my own kid...talk about feeling like the worst mother on the planet.  I'm pretty sure I texted Chris that exact phrase at some point during the visit.  So, from the moment the dentist told me about this, I was on the verge of tears.  I held myself together for as long as I could, but the second I stepped up to the receptionist to pay that was it...the tears starting rolling down my cheeks.  I was a mess!  I blamed it on my hormones, but in all reality I probably would've cried even if I wasn't pregnant.

After all those tears, you would've thought I'd be done.  Not even close.  When we got in the car I was a wreck!  Sobbing like a baby...no joke.  So, we just sat in the parking lot for a couple of minutes.  I called Chris and after talking things over with him, I was better.

So, the plan now is to have two of Vann's bottom baby teeth pulled.  This is happening next week.  It will allow his adult teeth to move into their correct places.  I'm a little nervous about this...actually a lot nervous.  But I'm keeping a brave face for Vann.  I know he's gonna do great and everything will work out just fine.  I'll let ya know how things turn out after his appt next Wednesday.

Hope you guys have a great day!!
