Homemade Kettle Korn

Do you know how easy it is to make Homemade Kettle Korn?!  That tastes even better than the stuff you get at the movie theaters?  Well, I'm here to share this super simple, delicious recipe!

Homemade Kettle Korn
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (coconut oil works great too!)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
Here's what you're gonna do.  Put the oil and 3 popcorn kernels in a large pot on the stove.  Cover with a lid, turn the heat on high and wait for the kernels to pop.  This is how you know your oil is hot enough.
Then pour in the rest of the kernels and the sugar.  Cover again and get ready for the pop, pop pop!  Now here's the thing...you have to swirl the pot pretty much the entire time.  This ensures you get good coverage of the yummy goodness on each and every piece of popcorn!
So, park yourself by the stove and swirl the pot on the heat, then off the heat.  Do this until all of your kernels have popped...on the heat, then off the heat.  It only takes a few minutes and it's so worth it...plus you'll get a nice lil' arm workout!
Once the kernels stop popping you want to carefully pour it into your favorite popcorn bowl.  If you wait too long the bottom will start to burn and that's no good.  So have your bowl all ready to go.  Then wait a few minutes for it to cool just a bit and dig in!  Enjoy with your favorite movie or just as a fun snack...yum!!
