Catching up...

Happy September!  Wait, summer's over?!  How the heck did that happen?  Man I love summer, but I also love me some fall.  Cool nights, cozy sweaters, yummy soups, Grey's Anatomy.  Yeah fall's good stuff.

I thought I'd take a minute to catch up here on the blog so, here's a bit of our August in pictures.  It was a fun filled month!

Boys finished their library reading logs so, they got to pick out a free book...yay!

Glow sticks and smores...perfect.

I fell in love with freezer cooking a few weeks ago.  I cannot believe I've never done it before.  Best idea ever!

Oh my gosh, so remember those boys Vann and Chayce met while camping?  Well the older one, Bode, and Vann became pen pals!  I love this so much.  They've written each other 3 letters each so far.  Vann gets so excited to check the mail when he thinks a new one is on its way.  What I love about this the most is that it happened so organically...there was no planning on my part involved.  They made it happen and I hope they continue to be pen pals for a long time.

A walk to the park so this little cutie can swing.

Chayce and Mia are best buds :)

Just a boy and his sticks.  Love him!

My Chaycers and I.  He's such a goof!

My Sweets

Trampoline fun!

This little monkey could swing all day long!  He learned how to pump his legs so he literally swings for hours.

And this one fell in love with sewing!  Out of the blue he asked me to teach him.  Well I don't sew so, I bought him a book and we hit up Hobby Lobby.  I plan to do another post about all the amazing things he's created so far!

Monkey in the middle at the pool.

So the other night Ash got a mosquito bite above his eye on his forehead.  Well the next morning the poor thing couldn't even open his eye because it had swelled up so much.  Dumb mosquitos.  The left pic is right after he woke up...the right is a few hours later.
After some googling I decided to use fresh aloe to heal it up.  It took a few hours, but it worked and he could see again!  And it took the whole day for the swelling to completely go away, but I was so happy to find a natural way to help my Sweets.

Hope you have a wonderful first day of September!  I'll be back soon with some of our schooling adventures this week :)

Our Saturday

Hello there!  Gosh I went on vacation and then just up and disappeared.  Sorry 'bout that!  I have a little catching up to do, but thought I'd quick share a few pics from our weekend.

The boys and I ran around Saturday morning.  First we hit the Dollar Store.  Had to get a few things for our upcoming camping trip...yay!  Then we went to Bloom (my yoga studio) to help celebrate their 3rd birthday.  I just love all the people there so so much.

A car selfie :)

My littlest munchkin and I

We spent over an hour at the library with the Frog Lady.  Learned about frogs, snakes, turtles, and lizards.  The boys loved it!  She was full of info and was very entertaining.

That big turtle weighs 70lbs!  His name is Frank the Tank lol.

One of the cool frogs she brought.

This is Tidbit...he
weighs 14lbs.
Vann loved him!

Ash just wanted to touch him.

Chaycers held a corn snake.

It looks like a necklace...and they both match!

That night we walked to a neighbor's house to have a nerf gun fight.  Seriously so so much fun for the kids!

Ash was super anxious to get there!

They loved it.

As we're walking home Ash whispered, 'Mom shh.  Don't scare the bunny.'  He notices everything which I heart.  So we stopped and watched the bunny eat grass for a few minutes before he hopped away.

It was a lovely day and I enjoyed every minute.  I still need to show you all the pics from our trip to Kansas.  We had a great time.  It's on my list of things to do before we leave to go camping...tomorrow ha!  Stay tuned for that hopefully later tonight :)

Weekend fun!

Playing a little catch up here.  It won't take long to get caught up though!  I took the boys to the pool again last Friday.  They love that place!

My sweet thang :)

Lazy river action
I'm not sure why, but they
have to stay in their tubes.

Vann loves the zip line!

Saturday we signed the older two up for fall soccer.  Then Chaycers went to a library class.  It was called Grossology and was right up his alley.  It involved poop!  They learned how looking at poo from different animals (even if it's fossilized) can teach you a lot about that animal.  I still remember dissecting an owl's pellet when I was little.  I loved it!  Anyhow, this class was so Chayce :)

Then we celebrated Mia's birthday.  Ash is whacking the pinata.

Most of the munchkins.  Ash and another kiddo are not in the picture.

Singing Happy Birthday!

It was pretty toasty out on Saturday so, the kids played with water guns, a small pool, and this jump house.  They did their best to get the slide wet which made for slippery fun!

Sunday I took the boys to
the Compassion Experience.
It was one of those really
makes you appreciate all
you have moments.
Lil' Ash checking out the 'food'.

Sparked lots of good convos after hearing how these two kids from other countries lived.

It was a great weekend!  For Father's Day dinner I made Chris homemade White Castle burgers.  He looooved them!!  So much better for you too.  He was a happy camper :)

Cotton Ball C's

We used cotton balls to make letter C's last week.  A simple project that kept little Ash busy for a bit.  I so love how he stays focused the entire time we do activities like this.  He really gets into each one!
Dipping his cotton ball in glue.

Harley hard at work...

Back to the big C...
More glus...

And he's done!  Great job buddy!

We hit the library that night to pick up a book about fossils.  We have one somewhere, but it's missing at the moment.  It'll turn up the day after we finish learning about fossils...I mean that's what always happens right?!

I love our library and the boys love going there.  We were happily surprised to walk in and see it was family Lego night!  Usually they enjoy looking for new books or movies, but not this night.  This night they were all about Legos.  And our quick trip to the library turned into over an hour of play.  It was great!

They're in heaven!

Watching Vann build something cool.

Almost done...

He made the 'Ultimate Slide'...they had a few marbles on the table as well so he was able to test his slide out and it worked!

What's cool is that after the kids build something they have a shelf to set them on until the next Lego event.  So when we went to the library a few days later the boys made sure to check out Vann's creation again!  And Chaycers still has an art project up on the wall from a class he went to at the beginning of the month.  He shows it to me every time we go to the library :)

Fishing Derby & Super Stolie

We took the boys to the Fishing Derby at the beginning of August.  It was a scorcher of a day!  And even though we didn't catch any fish, it was a good time and they are excited to try again another time.  A guy there told us about a nearby pond that is great for kids as the fish are always biting.  So hopefully we'll get a chance to go there soon.

Little Ash

Vann

Dad and Chaycers

Chaycers

He really liked trying to cast.  It was a bit dangerous at times though!

He's getting so big!

The library hosted another night of music last Friday.  This time we watched Super Stolie.  Ash loved her!!  Almost every song got the kids involved with movements...it was great.  We liked it so much we bought two of her CD's and we've listened to them daily since.  The kids really enjoy them!

Ash was super into it and did all the movements with her.

Near the end of the show he decided he was ready to go out on the 'dance floor'.  So Vann and Chayce joined him...such good big brothers :)

Ash has the orange scarf on his head, Vann has the green scarf and Chaycers has a blue one on two kids to the right of Vann...he's kinda hard to see.
