Fall TV Shows

I'm so excited for fall TV shows to start up this week!  Just watched Castle last night...I love me some Beckett and Castle.  Can't wait for Greys and Scandal and Revenge and I'm sure I'm missing a few others.  What are your favorite shows?

In case you're wondering...my 'girls' are doing really good!  The last time I pumped was yesterday morning and it was only like a 1/2 ounce total.  There is still quite a bit of milk in them, but they don't hurt and they're slowly deflating.  I'll soon be back in my size A bras :)  For the record, I was not a size A before kids...but now, if it's like after I pumped for Chayce, I'll barely fill a size A up.  The things we sacrifice for our kiddos.  But I love them all dearly so, I really don't mind :)

All of my littles are napping right now.  And the older two are watching Harry Potter.  Chayce borrowed it from the library.  I've actually never seen it before so, would like to watch it myself.  They're liking it, but it keeps skipping.  Maybe I'll get it for them for Christmas or something.

The boys love getting books with cd's from the library so, I try to get them often.  This week I got one of their favorite books...'The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog'  They think the pigeon books are so funny!

He loves his chair!

Smile Vann!

Cheese!

Mom, stop taking my picture!

Okay, well I'm outta here.  Hope you're having a great day!

Costumes

The boys have been all about their Star Wars costumes the past couple of days.  Especially Chayce...he's obsessed with his Darth Vader cape.  Here are a few pics of him rocking it :)

This was Monday...shirt off and everything :)

He wanted to sleep with it on, but Chris and I vetoed that.  Here he is first thing after he woke up in the morning today...looks great with his Santa jammies don't ya think?!

Guess who learned a new trick today...baby Ash!!  He's been rolling over from front to back in his crib for awhile now.  And he's been super duper close to rolling over from back to front.  Well, today he finally did it!  All by himself...he was so proud!  And to make things even more exciting...he's 4 months old today!

Happy 4 months my sweet little Ash!

So, I'm starting a new literature program with the boys.  It's from the Confessions of a Homeschooler blog.  I really like her stuff.  The first book we're going to dive into is 'Charlotte's Web'.  What I'm excited about is really exploring and discussing the book in depth with them.  Learning about all the parts of the not only the book (chapters, table of contents, etc), but also the parts of the story itself (protagonist, plot, etc).  Today they made predictions about the book and I read chapter 1 to them.

Vann's working on his predictions and drawing a cover page for the story.

Chaycers even made his own predictions and wrote them out himself (I helped with the spelling of course)

We're almost finished with our country unit we've been working on for forever now.  I think we took a few too many breaks with me having crazy awful morning sickness, to having a baby...this unit has taken much longer than it should have.  But we're one continent away from finishing up...Antarctica is our last stop, then we're done...yay!  And then I'm very excited to start on our new adventure...it's called Road Trip USA...again from the Confessions of a Homeschooler blog.  We're going to start learning all about the United States.  It should be a lot of fun!

Okay, well I'm off to catch up on my shows.  I really should take a snooze before Ash decides to wake up, but I also really want to watch Castle and Beckett make love eyes at each other :)  I'm sure I'll crash before it's half over, but I'll try to catch the whole episode.  Have a good night!

Balloon Fun

Our theme for the next two weeks is farm animals.  A fun topic for the kiddos!  Today we talked about pigs and did a little pig craft.

The kids wanted to dance to some Michael Jackson today...he's one of their favs.  I love to listen to them sing the songs...so cute!  Anyhow, during our dance time they decided to play 'volleyball' with a balloon they had gotten as a party favor from one of the many parties we've many to lately.  They were just cracking up hitting this balloon around.  It was great!

And speaking of Michael Jackson...after we read a few books about farm animals this morning, the boys were wanting to feel the baby move.  So, we sat for about 10 minutes talking and waiting for the little guy to give them a few kicks.  Chayce will sit so patiently with his hand/arm on my belly and just wait...it's adorable!  Vann loves to feel it, but isn't quite as patient.  Anyhow, the baby was moving around a bit, but not too much so, I tried laying on my side to see if that would get him going a bit more.  And while I was laying there, Chayce thought it would be a good idea to sing him a song...maybe that would wake him up.  And what better song to sing than 'Beat It'?!  Gosh it was too cute!  So, my little Chaycers sang the only two lines of 'Beat It' he knows over and over again, with his lips pressed up to my belly...it was so stinkin' cute!  He also tried singing a bit of 'Bad' to him too.  Unfortunately, the baby still wasn't cooperating so, we headed downstairs to do our craft.  I love that the boys already love their little brother :)

Chaycers dancing!

Getting ready to hit it to Vann

I love this shot...he jumps to hit the balloon!

Bouncing it back...

This one's great too!  They had a blast!

So tomorrow's the big day.  The day they 'check' to see if anything's happening with the baby.  I feel like something should be happening.  I've been having contractions...not consistent or anything.  And the baby is so low it really looks like he's ready to just fall right out.  So, I'm looking forward to finding out if there's any progress down there.  I'll keep ya posted...

I'm loving that all my favorite tv shows are up and running again...Castle, Revenge, Grey's, Private Practice, and Scandal.  And it's nice that they're spread out over different days.  I can still watch a show and be in bed at a decent time.  What shows are your favs?

Speaking of shows...I'm off to watch Castle right now...yay!  Hope you had a good Monday!

Rainy Day

Today was a rainy, dreary day.  Normally on days like this I like to snuggle up with the boys and watch a movie.  But instead we decided to do a sunshine craft.  We also made boats and floated them in the kitchen sink.  I'm thinking we'll put them in the tub tonight too :)

Chaycers lacing up the sides of his sun.

He did add a smiley face to it too, but I didn't get a pic of that.

So, Vann has been all about using his imagination and changing the crafts up a bit.  And I love it!  I was worried he was getting too old for some of the crafts we do, but I when I asked him if he still enjoys doing them, he said 'Yes!'

For our sun craft, he pulled out the scissors and got to work...

He added pipe cleaners...

Thinking about his next move...

Needs a couple of more holes punched out...

All done!

What else to do on a dreary day...bake!  I love to bake.  We made some yummy apple cranberry crisp and a batch of brownies.  One of my favorite things about baking is how good the house smells while it's in the oven.  Mmmm, mmmm good!

Chaycers is stirring up the brownies...they both love to help me cook and bake :)

Coating the apples with the cinnamon and sugar mixture

Vann's job was to make the oatmeal topping for the crisp

After work today, the boys and I ran to Lowe's and finally picked up the paint for the nursery.  It's about time, right??  I'm determined to get that sucker painted this weekend.  Oh, I wanted to share Chayce's birthday invite with you so, here it is...

I printed off the invite they had on NickJr.com and prettied it up a bit

I'm in love with that blue iridescent paper!  And I gotta tell ya, a Cricut is a crafty momma's best friend.  I cut all my stars and number 4's in a matter of minutes...love it!

So, that was our day in a nutshell.  How was your day?  I'm excited to snuggle up with my blanket and watch Rookie Blue...love that show!  Although I think Sam and Andy are going to get in a fight which makes me not happy, but I guess there has to be drama since it is a tv show and all.

Have a good night!

Reptile Crafts

Our theme last week was all about reptiles and since we were on vacation we didn't get to do any of the fun crafts.  So, we did two today just for fun.  One was a turtle and one was a lizard.  Here's some pics...

Chaycers was excited to paint!

This painting is serious business

Vann hard at work

Covering the edge with brown

He said, 'Look Mom!  When I mix green and white it makes light green!'

Then he mixed brown and white and got light brown...he's into mixing the colors right now.

Now he's mixing them all up

Vann's working on the turltle's shell

Cool design buddy!

Finishing up the green

After the paint dried, we made the two paper plates into turtles...so cute right?!  For whatever reason they both wanted sad turtles...not sure why, but that's why Vann's is frowning.

We also made lizard puppets...here's Chayce's.  He especially loved the tongue :)

And here's Vann's...so creative!

I started working on Chayce's birthday invitations today.  He's gonna be 4 in a month...seriously that is just crazy!  My babies are growing up too fast.  The theme for his party is Team Umizoomi.  I'm going to try to get all the invites finished up and in the mail tomorrow.  I have lots of cutting and gluing to do.  I'll post a pic after I get them in the mail.

Did you ever watch the show Final Witness?  I just recently started dvring it.  It's good...very sad, but good.  It's based on real life tragedies and it's told from the victim's point of view.  Like I said, I just started watching it, but the two episodes I did see I cried during both of them.  It's so shocking what some people will do...and so sad too.  When I found out it was based on a true story I was torn about whether I wanted to watch it or not.  And at the end of the first episode, I was like how in the world could someone do that...it's mind blowing.  Just doesn't make any sense.  Anyhow, I'm pretty sure the series is over now, but if you did happen to catch an episode...what did you think?

Okay, let's talk about something happier...we have an ultrasound in a week to see the baby again!  I never had an ultrasound this late with either of my other boys, but I guess the office I go to got a new 3-d or 4-d machine and they do a special ultrasound later in the pregnancy now.  I'm excited!  We'll get to see the little boy that keeps poking me in the ribs :)

I'm off to bed.  Sleep sweet!

Green Eggs & Ham

We've been back at preschool for a couple of weeks now, after taking off what seemed like forever when I was so super sick.  And the kids are loving it!  They sure missed all of their projects, songs, games, worksheets, everything.

Our theme this week is Community Helpers so, we've been talking a lot about that.  But I've also been adding in some extra crafts because I have so many piled up that we didn't do...like so, so many!

Yesterday the kids picked one called 'Green Eggs & Ham.'  While I got things ready for the craft I had Vann grab the book out of his room.  When I came downstairs I found him sitting on the couch reading the book to the kids...so cute!!

After he read the whole book to them, we got started on the craft.  Here are some pics of the action...

I love it!

He thinks the book is funny!

All done!

One more of cute Chaycers!

I'm so happy to be feeling like myself again.  I'm cooking and baking and cleaning and homeschooling...all of it!  I will say my back is all outta whack right now...it's something to do with my sciatic nerve because I can barely walk and the pain shoots down to my foot...but it sure beats puking multiple times a day.  I have my 18 week appointment for the baby tomorrow so, I'm hoping Jill can help fix my back because I have to admit, I'm afraid that I may not be able to walk one morning when I wake up and that would be bad.  Although, I did have a better day today so, I'm thankful for that.  Maybe it's fixing itself after giving me a hard time for the past 3 weeks.  Who knows...

I've been feeling the baby move a bit which is super fun!  That's my most favorite part.  I especially love when you can see him/her move and I can't wait for the kids to be able to feel/see it :)

Alrighty, I'm outta here.  I'm very excited to watch Revenge tonight...I think it's the season finale...good stuff!  And my favorite show, Rookie Blue, is coming back soon which is super great news!  Hope you had a great day!
